Twilight of life coming to a slower pace.
Light from the sun appears less often.
Lifeforms fattening and hunkering in place.
White flushes out color, making things soften.
Where is the energy that fuels the land?
Trees and plants are dormant; will they return?
What of the children who played outside?
The vast emptiness leaves the heart to yearn.
Only in dreams, summer vacations planned.
Hoping for hikes and warm days on the sand.
But today is winter, where everything died.
