FREEDOM -by guest author Lori Zenahlik Wallis

A country in distress,

Millions of people in unrest.

What’s going to happen? What will it be?

Will we be imprisoned,

Or will we be free?

Will we stand with the one, proven his worth by the deeds that he’s done?

Will we be sheep and lose our rights,

By hiding our heads, shrinking from the fight?

Following a Godless army is not my choice.

I’ll stand in the fight; they won’t silence my voice!

God gave us this country for us to protect.

We fly our flag and statues we erect.

That’s not enough, as others have bled.

The battleground of freedom is covered red.

It’s not always someone else’s fight.

It’s our turn to stand and protect our rights!

The fight for freedom is now or never.

If we lose, then we’ve lost forever.

When the bombs are bursting in air,

Where will you be, because I want to be there.

Shoulder to shoulder for the land that I love,

The land that was created by God above.

It doesn’t matter what religion you claim,

We’re all in God's army, and evil is our aim.

One man cannot stand the attack alone

But together, we can protect our own.

We don’t just fight for the red, white, and blue.

We fight for the lives and families of me and you.

They want to enslave our children and kill our pride.

I will stand with the one and shake my fist and cry!

His battle cry of freedom is FIGHT FIGHT

The righteous can fight through this dark with God's light!

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Freedom

by Lori Zenahlik Wallis

Lori Zenahlik Wallis grew up in Arizona, married William A. Zenahlik, and became a military dependent. He was an AH-64 pilot and served 18 years in the combined Army, Air Force, active duty, and Guard service. Lori lost him and all four of their children in a plane crash on their oldest son’s 18th birthday. There was no room for her as her life changed on 2 March 1998.  Her patriotism, love, and respect for military members and dependents have never changed. She became involved with T.A.P.S., the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and Children. She became a Peer Mentor to help other widows and became involved with the Good Grief Camp for kids. She has answered calls from the Department of the Navy, Department of Defense, and local government for assistance involving tragic accidents with multiple losses. Lori remarried four years after the accident to Timothy Wallis and instantly became a mom again to 9-year-old Alex and 4-year-old Macalie, and a stepmom to Truitt. She now has six beautiful grandchildren. Writing helps Lori deal with her PTSD and has given her a voice for her love of the military and loss. She now resides in Pocatello, Idaho, surrounded by pine trees, quaking aspens, and wildlife. "Life is good again."
