I have been in
a hurry since
I was old enough
to worry
that time was
slipping out
the door
with everything
I wanted so bad
it's sad
but despite my
haste
entire decades
have gone
to waste
while I was
keeping the pace
and nothing has
ever showed up
on cue
and numerous wishes
have never come true
I think I hold
the world's record
for getting nowhere
fastest on the treadmill
of my determined will
and though I have
reached a distinguished age
I'm still just a
rambunctious
ambitious
foolish
human hamster in a cage
